Late Post-LASIK visual Deterioration

چکیده
A 40 year-old woman was referred to a refractive surgery clinic complaining of blurred vision and photophobia. She had undergone myopic LASIK 8 years ago. There had been no problem one year after surgery with best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20/20 at that time. Her complaints started gradually and progressed thereafter. She had no history of systemic disease including diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Upon presentation, BCVA in her right and left eyes were 4/10 and 5/10, with -5.00-1.50×180° and -5.50-1.50×165°, respectively. On slitlamp examination, the LASIK flap interface was barely visible. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was 14 and 13 mmHg, in the right and left eyes respectively. Funduscopy revealed mild myopic chorioretinal degeneration but was otherwise unremarkable.

Conductive keratoplasty for the treatment of presbyopia: comparative study between post- and non-LASIK eyes
PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of conductive keratoplasty (CK) for the treatment of presbyopia and analyze the differences in the effects between post- and non-laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) eyes. Clinical preoperative factors that could affect the predictability of CK were also analyzed. METHODS The visual and refractive outcomes of CK for the treatment of presbyopia in 14...

INTRODUCTION Refractive surgery is considered a safe and effective method for correction of refractive errors in adults. OBJECTIVE To report an unusual case of a young child with partially accommodative esotropia presenting with deterioration of vision and worsening of esotropia following refractive surgery. CASE REPORT Unanticipated and progressive irregular corneal astigmatism along with ...

OBJECTIVE To report on 4-year follow-up of corneal higher-order aberrations and daily visual functions of myopic patients after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). METHODS One hundred thirty four eyes of 67 patients who underwent LASIK guided by aspherical ablation were included in this study. The vision, corneal spherical aberration (SphA) and Coma were recorded before LASIK and at 6 month...

INTRODUCTION The field of refractive surgery continues to evolve amid continued concerns as to which surgical technique minimizes the risk of inducing ectasia. PURPOSE To compare clinical outcomes between PRK, LASEK and Epi-LASIK in moderately to highly myopic eyes (-4.00 D to -8.00 D). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective chart review of 100 PRK eyes, 100 LASEK eyes (with alcohol) and 97 ...
